Details: According to the investigation, since February 2024, two repairmen from Kharkiv have been providing the Russians with information necessary to conduct air attacks on the city of Kharkiv.
The suspects travelled separately around Kharkiv and nearby settlements, covertly gathering the information about the positions of the Ukrainian army and equipment. Additionally, they looked for mobile fire groups that destroy Russian drones.
After collecting the necessary information, one of the suspects transmitted it in real-time to his acquaintance, who left for temporarily occupied Donetsk in 2014 and has served in the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) army. The acquaintance was supposed to pass the coordinates to the Russian special services for launching missile attacks and UAV strikes.
Law enforcement officers uncovered the men at their places of residence in Kharkiv. During the search, mobile phones with evidence of illegal activity were seized.
Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, the suspects were served with a notice of suspicion. One of them was charged with state treason committed under martial law, while the other was charged with disseminating information about the movement and location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under martial law.
The court granted the prosecution’s request, so both suspects were remanded in custody without the right to bail.
