More than 60 Russian citizens in France have been added to the so-called S list, which includes persons dangerous for the state.
Source: Gérald Darmanin, Minister of Internal Affairs of France, cited by BFMTV, as reported by European Pravda
Details: Darmanin remarked that the government allowed him to hand over the list of citizens which may be deported back to Russia.
“The S list included about 60 Russians. There are obviously people of Chechen origin among them. Until now we were instructed to systematically deport the people who may be especially dangerous,” Darmenen stated.
He added that out of 60 Russians who are on the S list in the territory of France, about 40 “are either in prison or under restrictions imposed by court”, while about 20 “may be deported if we reach consensus with the Russian authorities”.
Darmanen mentioned the Russian citizens from the S list after a Chehchen man killed a literature professor and injured two more people in the lyceum in the city of Arras in the north of France. Later it was revealed that his brother was serving a sentence for planning terrorist attacks, and the man himself was under police surveillance, which, nevertheless, did not help anticipate his actions.
After the incident the highest level of terrorist threat was announced in France with 7,000 military personnel involved in security measures.
