Police told HKFP on Thursday they had received a report from a 31-year-old woman on Sunday, who said she had been raped in a Tsim Sha Tsui flat in the early hours of the day. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the police arrested seven men, aged 23 to 38, for suspected rape.

The CSD confirmed that seven of its employees were allegedly involved in the case, including an officer, an assistant officer I and five assistant officers II. They have all been suspended from duty.

Alleged gang rape

Citing sources, the local media reported that three of the officers allegedly gang-raped a drunk woman and the other four masturbated nearby.

According to a Ming Pao report, the woman who said she had been raped befriended a 31-year-old CSD officer and another female last year in Lan Kwai Fong. Last Saturday, the two women joined a party hosted by their friend, the CSD officer, as well as seven other CSD staff in a Tsim Sha Tsui flat. . Local media reports, again citing sources, said the suspected gang rape had taken place in a short-term rental unit in Mirador Mansion, a multi-use building on Nathan Road.

Around midnight, the two friends of the woman left and the woman stayed in the flat to continue drinking with the seven CSD staff.

The woman said she lost consciousness, and later woke up naked and alone. She suspected that she has been raped and reported to the police on the Sunday morning.

“The department greatly emphasises the behaviour and conduct of correctional staff and has strict disciplinary requirements. Any officer who commits an offence will be dealt with in accordance with the law and will not be tolerated,” CSD said.
