Taiwan shares end above 16,500 points, led by TSMC
Taipei, Aug. 23 (CNA) Shares in Taiwan moved higher by more than 130 points to close above 16,500 points after jumping over high technical hurdles ahead of the 10-day moving average of 16,480 points on Wednesday, with contract chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) driving the gains, dealers said.
