Pairs of participants in full gear competed against other contestants in simulated firefighting. The competition comprised five tasks, including stair-climbing to a five-storey height, hose hoisting, rescuing a “casualty”, etc.

“For four days, our unbreakable boys and girls amazed the world with their courage and demonstrated great endurance and strength during the competition,” the State Emergency Service said.

There were seven firefighters in the team – Oleksandr Baran, Volodymyr Dudka, Svitlana Marusenko, Maria Lebedynska, Roman Sylchuk, Ihor Polishchuk, and Maksym Berezniuk.

The Ukrainians finished second, losing only to the Polish team, as the gap between their results was just a few seconds.
