Israeli troops have broken through Hamas’ front line of defence in the northern Gaza Strip.

Details: Israel Defence Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari says ground forces have broken through Hamas’ front line in the northern Gaza Strip.
He added that the ground operation is progressing as planned.
Quote from Hagari: “With advance planning, precise intelligence, and joint attacks [from the land, air and sea], our forces broke through Hamas’s front lines of defence in the north of the Gaza Strip”.
Background:
- On 11 October, the IDF announced the assassination of Hamas Finance Minister Jawad Abu Shamala.
- Furthermore, on 12 October, the Israeli military reported that it had attacked several operational headquarters from which Hamas had organised a terrorist invasion into Israeli territory and killed a senior naval officer.
- On 1 November, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said that the IDF had made huge achievements in its ground operation in the Gaza Strip.
- Moreover, on Wednesday, Ibrahim Biari, one of Hamas’ commanders, was killed in an Israeli strike on a refugee camp in Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip.
