Mykola “Abdulla” Volokhov, Commander of the TERRA aerial reconnaissance unit of the 3rd Assault Brigade, said that the situation on the Bakhmut front has been stable for a year, but the defenders managed to stop the Russians and go on the offensive.

Quote: “The situation on the Bakhmut front has been difficult for about a year, but stable. We have been on the initiative for several months now. We have results and are moving forward.
Previously, the progress was more rapid, but now the weather conditions limit us in a certain way. The enemy also makes a lot of effort to restore the positions that they lost. Their counterattacks also slow down our progress a bit.”
Details: He said that the result of the operation of Ukrainian Forces on this sector of the front during the year of war, from winter 2022 to winter 2023, is not bad: “We managed to stop the enemy, stabilise the situation, move from defence and loss of positions to offensive actions.”
At the same time, Volokhov added that with the approach of winter and changes in weather conditions, there will be fewer opportunities.
