Zelenskyy excludes former head of Special Comms Service from Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy excluded Yurii Shchyhol, former head of the State Special Communications Service from the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and appointed Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

Quote: “In accordance with Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Defence of Ukraine,’ on the basis of the proposal of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, I decree… to include in the personal composition of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Fedorov Mykhailo Albertovych, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine; withdraw from the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Yurii Shchyhol.”
Details: The decree comes into force from the day of its publication.
Background:
- The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office convicted the leadership of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine of appropriating more than UAH 62 million of state funds.
- On the same day, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed the head of the State Special Communications Service Yurii Shchyhol.
