China to trial visa-free travel for French, German, Italian, Spanish, Malaysian, Dutch travellers

China is to trial visa-free entry for French, German, Italian, Spanish, Malaysian, and Dutch travellers from December, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning announced on Friday.
Ordinary passport holders from the six European countries may travel or do business in China without a visa for 15 days. The trial will continue until November 30, 2024.
“This decision will facilitate travel to China for many German citizens to an unprecedented extent,” Patricia Flor, Germany’s ambassador to China, said X, formerly Twitter. “This decision will facilitate travel to China for many German citizens to an unprecedented extent.”
She added that visa-free travel for Chinese visiting German would only be possible if approved by European Schengen Agreement members.
