Teacher from Kyiv kindergarten damaged in Russian drone attack: “Little Sun group’s classroom has been destroyed”
Pravda Ukraine
A kindergarten in Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district caught fire after being hit by drone wreckage as a result of the Russian Shahed drone attack on the night of 24-25 November.
Olena Nosenko, a teacher from the kindergarten, told Ukrainska Pravda.Zhyttia (Life) that the premises of the Little Sun group were damaged the most.
Fortunately, there were no casualties because the Russian attack occurred on the weekend.
Olena’s two-year-old son also goes to the Little Sun group of the kindergarten. Its classroom was located on the first floor.
“The toilet there was completely destroyed. The ceiling was damaged in the room where the kids eat and study. Plaster has peeled off everywhere and windows are shattered – including in the assembly hall on the ground floor. There are cracks in the concrete slab between the two floors,” Nosenko said.
She added that the kids from the Little Sun group will still be able to attend the kindergarten as usual despite the damage the building suffered.
“We have two buildings, one of which has not been damaged at all, so we’ll be working as usual from tomorrow [27 November]. All the kids will just be based in the second building, which has spare classrooms,” Nosenko explained.
