Iran secures deal for Russian fighter jets and helicopters

Iran has agreed to purchase Russian Su-35 fighter jets, Mi-28 helicopters and training aircraft.

Details: Deputy Defence Minister Mehdi Farahi stated that the development of plans for supplying Su-35 fighter jets, Mi-28 attack helicopters and Yak-130 jet trainer aircraft to the combat units of the Iranian armed forces has been completed. He said that these three advanced military aircraft will come to Iran’s disposal, and the relevant process is underway.
Reuters notes that Iran’s Air Force has only a few dozen attack aircraft, including Russian as well as outdated American models purchased before 1979.
