Zelenskyy: We had difficulties in Ukraine’s south because everyone was talking about our goals

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has refused to name the 2024 Ukrainian goals in the war, as there were “difficulties in the south” before that because “everyone was talking about our goals”.

Details: Zelenskyy was asked what “realistic goals” are after Ukraine’s summer counteroffensive and what goals are set for the next 12 months.
Quote: “I can’t tell you anything about our plans. We had difficulties in the south because everyone was talking about our goals. Frankly, for all months, people were discussing where we were going and looking at the details of how we would get there, if we couldn’t get there, what was better, what would be enough and what would not be enough, or maybe it is better to go to the south, it is warm here, maybe later, because it is winter there…
… Well, I am sorry, but it does not work like that with Russia, which has more weapons. Therefore, I cannot [comment on goals].

Background:
- Earlier, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, stated that he could not comment on military plans, otherwise “it would be a show”.
