The sculptures of the children who are the founders of Kyiv – Kyi, Shchek, Khoryv and their sister Lybid – have been dressed in festive costumes of angels on Poshtova Square in the capital.

This time [they are] angels, as it’s Christmas. Additionally, I symbolically dressed one of the kids in the uniform of a Ukrainian energy worker. Because today, energy workers bring light to people! And light is life!”, he noted.
Volodymyr Zhuravel also mentioned the critical infrastructure facilities workers who were injured.
“It’s important for all of us to remember the hard work of those who protect [us] and bring [us] the light.
And to wish that there be light and warmth in every home and every heart! To wish that this light spreads! On this day, and throughout our lives, may we carry the light!” he added.
