Dronov went to perform in front of Russian soldiers and even shot a music video for one of his propagandistic songs on the occupied territories of Ukraine.
Besides Dronov, Ukraine’s Culture Ministry added another Russian to the list in 2023 – Russian actor Alexey Kravchenko known from military-themed movies The 9th Company, Solntsepyok, Our Spetsnaz and series Brigada (The Brigade), Spetsnaz, etc.
Due to his participation in Solntsepyok, a propaganda movie about the war in Donbas in Ukraine, Kravchenko was added to the list back in 2021. Yet only in July 2023, Detector-Media found out that in November 2021 he was taken off the list allegedly after a request from the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).
The Ministry of Culture added that within the course of 2023, no individual was taken off this list. As of today the list includes 213 persons.
Background: In 2022, the year Russia invaded Ukraine, four people were added to the list of persons who pose a threat to the national security of Ukraine: media personalities Vladimir Soloviov and Dmitry Kiselyov, singer Anna Semenovich and blogger Dmitry Puchkov. Meanwhile, Russian comedian Maxim Galkin was taken off the list.
The list of persons who pose a threat to the national security of Ukraine has been composed by the Ministry of Culture on the basis of requests from SSU, the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine and the National Council for TV and Radio since 2015.
On 8 August 2015, the Ministry of Culture received a list of 14 persons who pose a threat to the national security of Ukraine from the SSU.
Being on the list imposes certain restrictions against an individual. For instance, if it is a movie industry figure, then the Ukrainian State Film Agency refuses to issue a state certificate or suspends the licence on film screening of the movie said individual participated in.
