Details: The package includes additional projectiles for the NASAMS and HIMARS systems, 155 mm and 105 mm artillery rounds, Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, TOW anti-tank missiles and Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems.
Over 15 million cartridges for small arms, demolition ammunition for removing obstacles, spare parts, medical equipment, technical maintenance and other auxiliary equipment were mentioned in the list of weapons supplied as well.
Background:
- The White House has previously stressed that it has funds for only one package of military assistance to Ukraine, after which it will run out of money without a congressional decision.
- In October, US President Joe Biden asked Congress to approve additional funding, including more than $60 billion for Ukraine. But it has been stuck in the Senate due to disagreements between both parties over border security with Mexico.
- Last week, it was reported that the US Senate would not vote on the aid package for Ukraine before the end of the year.
