Details: According to sources of Ukrainska Pravda, in his opening speech Zelenskyy thanked the MPs for passed European integration laws and called for team unity.

He asked to continue supporting European integration bills because, after the war, conditions may arise that allow Ukraine to quickly join the EU.

When it comes to the frontline situation, the President stated that Ukraine has made significant gains at sea while going on the defensive in some areas.

Quote: “In terms of mobilisation, the president stated that Sirskyi [Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief – ed.] is currently conducting a large audit of who is where, as it was discovered that many of those who should have been at the front were not. That is why when an audit has taken place, we will gain a better understanding of the true state of affairs – and we, meanwhile, should work on the [mobilisation – ed.] law itself in the Rada.”

Details: Among other things, the president emphasised the importance of security agreements with other countries and expressed hope that the United States would be able to vote on assistance to Ukraine.

Regarding relations with Poland, the president recalled his plan to send governmental representatives to the border and emphasised the importance of maintaining relations with Poland.

Zelenskyy also stated that the current position of the Polish authorities is heavily influenced by the upcoming local elections. The Russian Federation is also actively trying ot exacerbate the conflict.

When some MPs asked about the political future, Zelenskyy stated that it is not on the list of priorities at the moment. “Let us work to win, and there will be a future. Anyone who proves himself and has a head on his shoulders will be fine,” the MPs retell the president’s words.

Among other things, the parliamentarians raised concerns about potential threats to the president’s legitimacy, as it will be five years since Zelenskyy was elected to the position in May of this year.

Zelenskyy responded that he knew about Russians preparing information campaigns, but that no one needed to respond to such provocations.

He also emphasised that the partners support the Ukrainian authorities’ position on legitimacy and impossibility of holding elections at this moment of time.
