Ukraine’s President appoints new commander of Ukraine’s Support Forces

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, has appointed Oleksandr Yakovets as the new commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Support Forces.

Details: In his first decree, Zelenskyy removed Dmytro Hereha from his position of commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Support Forces.
In the following decree, he appointed Oleksandr Yakovets to the position instead.
Reference: Yakovets served as the head of the logistics department and deputy chief of staff for the Skhid (East) Operational Command from 2018 to 2020.
He had served as the head of the engineering troops for the Command of the Armed Forces Support Forces since 19 February 2020.
