Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, does not rule out that the situation in Russia might change due to the war Russia is waging against Ukraine, if Ukraine receives enough weapons.

Details: Kuleba replied to a question whether there is still hope that the Russian society might become the “X” factor, which will bring changes to Russia amid the full-scale war, which has been ongoing for more than two years.

Quote: “The Russian society is sometimes called the society of slaves as they obediently listen to everything their slave owner Putin imposes on them. But even slaves rebel. So I think it is wrong to call the Russian society slaves.”

More details: Kuleba added that as of today he saw no “X” factor, noting that the Russians “swallowed” the death of the head of the Russian opposition Alexei Navalny.

“But this can change, if the situation in the combat zone and in Russia changes. However, Ukraine needs weapons to change this situation,” Kuleba remarked.

Background: The European Commission believes that the cause of death of the head of the Russian opposition Alexei Navalny must be established by an international investigation.

Reportedly, the EU countries are preparing a sanctions package against about 30 Russians and Russian companies due to Navalny’s death.

Earlier thtop EU diplomat Josep Borrell reported about the plans to re-name the sanctions regime for violating human rights in honour of Navalny.
