Ukrainian forces stabilise situation in Vovchansk – Khortytsia Group of Forces

Ukrainian forces have been able to stabilise the situation in Kharkiv Oblast, in particular in the city of Vovchansk, though the situation in the area remains difficult.

Quote from Voloshyn: “The operational situation in Kharkiv Oblast currently remains difficult and volatile, but our Defence Forces and all the units deployed in the area have been able to stabilise the situation, in particular in the city of Vovchansk.”
Details: Voloshyn added that the situation in Kharkiv Oblast is constantly changing.
Russian forces are continuing their attempts to break through the Ukrainian defences in the vicinity of Lyptsi, Vovchansk and Starytsia: “The invaders are combining ground attacks with airstrikes. The occupation forces are deploying aircraft to carry out missile strikes and drop bombs on Kharkiv and other cities and towns in [Kharkiv] Oblast.”
Over the course of last week, the Russian troops carried out 83 assaults on the Kharkiv front, with five combat engagements occurring throughout today, 21 May.
Quote from Voloshyn: “The number of combat engagements has almost halved compared to yesterday. Enemy forces are continuing their attempts to concentrate their efforts on the Strilecha–Lyptsi axis and on capturing the city of Vovchansk so as to advance on Bilyi Kolodiaz and pursue an offensive from behind our troops’ positions.”
