Details: Leticia Moreno, an honorary friend of UNICEF, paid a visit to the capital at the organisation’s invitation. The legendary Spanish violinist played a song to which the graduates waltzed.
An air-raid warning was issued during the dancing rehearsal, but the pupils were able to continue in the station shelter.
The lyceum, where the pupils studied, was severely damaged as a result of bombardment at the start of the full-scale war. 75% of the building was damaged, with the lyceum’s roof destroyed, the premises on three floors burned down, and the façade and windows ruined.
The restoration of Irpin’s main educational institution came to a finish in September 2023.
According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Education and Science, over 230,000 young people will graduate from Ukrainian schools this year. More than half of them had the opportunity to study in person during their last year of school education.
In 2023, graduates from one of Kharkiv Oblast’s schools performed a waltz against the backdrop of the Palace of Culture, which was destroyed in hostilities.
