Russian strike on Kharkiv hypermarket: number of casualties rises

The death toll following the Russian attack on the Epicentr hypermarket in Kharkiv on the afternoon of 25 May has risen to three; 38 civilians have sustained injuries in the attack.

Background:
- Russian forces struck an Epicentr home improvement hypermarket in Kharkiv on the afternoon of Saturday, 25 May, killing two. Earlier, officials said two civilians were killed and 35 sustained injuries.
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that up to 200 people might have been at the store at the time of the attack.
- By 17:45 (Kyiv time) on 25 May, the fire that broke out as a result of the Russian strike on the Epicentr store in Kharkiv had been contained.
