Details: According to Verbytskyi, during the full-scale invasion, Russia stole and destroyed Ukrainian grain and other agricultural supplies worth billions of dollars.

Quote: “Currently, Russia has stolen over 1,700 tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products from Ukraine’s occupied territory and is destroying agricultural infrastructure. In order to track the stolen agricultural products and hold those involved accountable, Ukrainian prosecutors have received orders to arrest over 20 vessels, filed requests for mutual legal assistance, and sent 20 indictments to the court,” Verbytskyi said.

It should be highlighted that the investigation is greatly hindered by the Russian Federation’s concealment of the Ukrainian provenance of agricultural products, and the required documentation and witnesses are either in the occupied territories or in Russia.

Background:

The state-owned firm, founded by Russians in 2023, exported about 212,000 tonnes of grain from the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast for an estimated US$46 million. Ukraine exports grain to Türkiye, Libya and Israel, with European corporations also involved.
