Ukrainian volunteers attacked by Russian-speaking foreigners in Prague – video

Pravda Ukraine

On 1 June, Russian-speaking foreigners attacked volunteers of the Prague Maidan initiative who were raising money to support Ukraine in Prague’s Old Town Square.

Source: The Prague police confirmed the information about the clash to the Novinky portal, European Pravda reports.

Details: On Saturday, one of the Prague Maidan volunteers posted a video on social media in which a group of men and women speaking Russian were about to attack them. At one point, a man in the video says in German with a Russian accent that he is German.

The participants of the fight shout at each other in Russian and Ukrainian and fight with an umbrella. Eventually, the Prague Ukraine stand was damaged.

One of the Ukrainian activists posted a photo of her bloody hand on X (Twitter) after the fight. She said that Russian-speaking women hit a Czech woman in the head, and a Russian-speaking man told a guy “how good Russia is at killing Ukrainians”.

The Prague police confirmed that they had arrived at the Old Town Square because of a conflict between “two groups of foreigners”.

“Criminal investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. They are finding out what happened at the scene. No one was restricted in their personal freedom, and no one was detained,” said police spokeswoman Eva Kropacheva.

Last year, the Czech police launched an investigation into an attack on a man in the capital’s Prague 1 district. He was allegedly beaten because he was mistaken for a Ukrainian.
