Ukraine’s energy company signs €15 million grant agreement with German bank for substations

The Ukrainian National Energy Company Ukrenergo has signed a grant agreement for the amount of €15 million with the German state bank of development KfW.

Quote: “These are the funds of the EU transferred to us through KfW. They will be spent on the procurement of critical equipment and the restoration of high-voltage substations after Russian terrorist attacks.”
Kudrytskyi added that over the last two days Ukrenergo had received €45.4 million of international support for rebuilding the power system after Russian attacks and strengthening its resistibility.
Background:
- On 11 June the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2024) started in Berlin.
- Earlier Ukrenergo signed a loan agreement with a German state bank KfW for the amount of €30.4 million.
