Details: According to Zelenskyy, Putin recognises that he is alone, but “not completely isolated,” because there are “people who balance it out.”
Quote: “How can he (Putin – ed.) overcome the current isolation? This is no longer the G8, he is not a major actor for many countries. In addition, he is not an actor for China. I am confident that we addressed this issue.
They are all aware that he will eventually end up paying respect to international law or engaging in radical actions that will still result in his isolation. As a result, I believe he currently considers the world to be bipolar and attempts to divide it in this manner. Because he is unable to leave the said isolation. So he has to do everything he can to get someone to join him.
And our goal is to do everything possible to instil scepticism [about Putin’s designs]… It would be preferable if [countries] remained sceptical, rather than sided with Russia.
Our goal is to do everything we can to make his isolation more apparent to his society. So he and others in his country will come under pressure. Then, I believe, there will be an opportunity to end the war diplomatically.”
