Quote by Serhii: “Having received an order to ready, we immediately headed out to the position together with my fellow soldiers. They informed us by walkie-talkie that our target was close. We saw an enemy missile flying in the direction of the settlement of Vasylkiv in a few seconds.
With no hesitation, I took my machine gun and opened fire. I only had one thought – I have to hit the target! After shooting from the machine gun I saw that the missile started to veer off course and go lower.”
Details: The Air Force noted that shooting down a missile from a machine gun is extremely difficult.
In civilian life the man was a doctor. At the moment he’s on combat duty in a mobile firing unit.
Reportedly, the soldier only believed that he had indeed downed a Russian missile from a machine gun when he saw its debris with his own eyes.
