Missile attack on Kyiv on 8 July: emergency and rescue operations completed – photos

Emergency rescue and recovery operations in Kyiv following the Russian strike on 8 July have been completed as of the morning of 10 July.

Details: A total of 33 people have been killed, including 5 children, as a result of the Russian attack on 8 July in the capital. In addition, 121 people have been injured, including 10 children. Eleven people have been rescued.

“These were tragic, intense and exhausting days. The enemy once again confirmed its ‘terrorist state’ status. Rescue workers and dozens of units of equipment tirelessly worked to clear the rubble, trying to save every life,” the State Emergency Service summarised.

Background:

  • On 8 July, the Russians launched a missile attack on Ukraine. They hit the Okhmatdyt hospital, the ADONIS private clinic and residential buildings in Kyiv.
  • Two adults, one of them a doctor, were killed in the attack on Okhmatdyt.
  • An entire section of a building in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv was destroyed as a result of the strike. As of the afternoon of 8 July, seven people, including three children, were reported killed. Two more people were killed at an industrial facility in Shevchenkivskyi district.
  • The Domino business centre was damaged in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv, killing seven people.
  • A four-storey building belonging to the ADONIS clinic was partially destroyed in the Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv, and nine people were killed.
