Details: Open-source data indicates that between February 2022 and June 2024, Ukrainian forces damaged or destroyed 26 Russian Navy vessels operating in the Black Sea region. Strikes were conducted across the northern part of the Black Sea region and the Sea of Azov, the review reads.

The Ukrainian General Staff officially reports 28 Russian ships and boats, as well as one submarine, being hit.

The UK intelligence has noted that over the past year, the frequency and level of damage caused by Ukrainian attacks in the Crimean Peninsula area have increased, with nearly two-thirds of the strikes occurring during this period.

Background:

  • In May, the UK Defence Intelligence assessed the impact of the strike on the carrier of Russian Kalibr missiles in Sevastopol.
  • In April, the intelligence stated that after the change of command, Russia’s Black Sea Fleet became the least active it has been since the beginning of the war.
