Pantsir-S1 air defence system was spotted near Putin’s residence in Valday – photos

Journalists of the Russian service of Radio Liberty have spotted a Pantsir-S1 air defence system on satellite images near the residence of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in Valday, Novgorod Oblast.

Details: The journalists claim that a Pantsir-S1 air defence system was placed on a tower near the residence. Such systems have been previously spotted in Moscow Oblast.
It is located in the forest on Ryabinovy Island, 3.7 kilometres from Putin’s residence in Valdai.
The tower with the air defence system is clearly visible on new Google satellite images taken on 6 May 2024. The history of images over the past months on Planet.com shows that this air defence position near Putin’s Valdai residence was installed in March 2024.
On January 23, the Russians started installing air defence systems in Novgorod Oblast, Russia. The air defence systems that will protect Russian President Vladimir Putin and his close circle have been spotted near his residence in Yashcherovo village in the Valday district.
