Day three of large-scale cyberattack on Ukrainian bank monobank: Ukrainian special services offer assistance

The unprecedented Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDOS) attack on Ukrainian bank monobank has been ongoing for three consecutive days. Over 5.5 billion requests have flooded the bank, and Amazon Web Services has paid attention to the cyberattack.

Details: The attack commenced on Friday, 16 August. Monobank received a billion requests within three hours of the attack.
Horokhovskyi noted that Ukrainian security services offered their assistance as the cyberattack on Monobank entered its third day.
“AWS (Amazon Web Services) employees got involved in the case. A cyber attack of this scale is also unusual for them. In addition, our special services offered their help. The situation is under control, but the scale [of the attack] is impressive,” Horokhovskyi noted.
Background: Monobank has been subjected to a large-scale DDOS attack for the third day in a row. The bank’s services continue to repel it.
