Russians plan to attract more “Cossacks” to schools in temporarily-occupied Ukraine

Pravda Ukraine

Beginning with the new school year, the Russians plan to increase the number of so-called “Cossacks” involved in the “education process” in schools in Ukraine’s temporarily-occupied territory. [The so-called “Cossacks” are employees of the private security organisation Kazachya Sotnya (“Cossack Company”) in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, which consists of “registered Cossacks” of the “Central Cossack Army”, and former employees of security and law enforcement agencies – ed.].

According to the NRC, an educational seminar was held in occupied Donetsk to discuss the participation of the “Cossack” groups in competitions for grants in the field of education.

Quote: “In this way, the occupiers plan to militarise education in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine as much as possible. It is known that the pseudo-heroes will mostly teach children military affairs and will also be integrated into the teaching of propaganda subjects such as political information or even history,” the National Resistance Center said.

This is not the first time Russians have involved the so-called Cossacks in education in Ukraine’s temporarily-occupied territory.

“For example, in Kherson Oblast, these representatives of the occupation forces told children about how they were introducing the Russian world on the Ukrainian lands they had destroyed, showing films about the beauty of Russia and the importance of becoming part of Russia in the last school year,” the centre recalls.

Recently, the Luhansk Oblast State Administration reported that over 100,000 school diaries [a notebook for a student’s schedule and marks – ed.] with a rewritten history of the region would be distributed to schoolchildren in the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk Oblast.

“Students in schools in the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic will receive diaries designed by Russians by 1 September [‘Luhansk People’s Republic’ is an unrecognised puppet state and terrorist organisation – ed.]. However, the content is the most significant consideration. The diaries’ pages include information about the region’s history. However, for whatever reason, there is an abrupt transition from the 19th century to the year 2014, as if nothing was happening in that period.

The region is not identified as part of either Ukraine or the Soviet Union. At the same time, they include state symbols of the Russian Federation and the so-called ‘Luhansk People’s Republic’. The invaders have enumerated the most important events of the past 10 years. To date, over 100,000 copies have been printed. Propaganda starts from the very first form,” the message says.

As previously reported, Russia has created 12 youth movements largely focused on propaganda to militarise Ukrainian children in the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
