Details: The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry noted that it had summoned a representative of the Russian Embassy “in response to the intensified Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilian objects, including the attack in Poltava that killed dozens of people.”

Quote: “Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry noted that rockets and bombs hitting educational institutions, hospitals, and residential areas demonstrate Russia’s desperation and complete disregard for human life and international humanitarian law,” the statement said.

They also reminded Russian diplomats that the responsibility for these war crimes lies not only with their direct executors, but also with those responsible for planning and implementing Russian military aggression against Ukraine.

“Lithuania, together with the international community, once again calls on Russia to immediately stop its criminal brutal aggression and reiterates that it will do everything possible to further strengthen the support to Ukraine,” the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry stated.

On 3 September, Russia launched two ballistic missiles towards Poltava. The time interval between the air-raid warning being issued and the strike of the missiles was insufficient for the citizens to move to shelters.

As of 4 September, emergency workers are continuing to clear the rubble after the Russian attack, where 13 people may be still trapped. The latest information indicates that 53 people were killed and 289 were injured.

On the morning of 4 September, Russia carried out a huge strike on Ukraine, which, as the latest reports indicate, killed seven people in Lviv, including three children. On the same morning in Kryvyi Rih, the Russians struck a hotel, injuring five people, one of whom was a 10-year-old child.
