Ukraine’s Defence Procurement Agency buys ammunition for funds raised via UNITED24 platform for the first time

The Agency of Defence Procurement of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has signed the first contract on ammunition procurement for funds raised via the UNITED24 platform.

Details: The contracts provide for the supply worth 47 million hryvnias [US$1.13 million].
“This is an important step in strengthening the defence capability of our army through new funding sources,” Dmytro Klimenkov, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, said.
Background:
- In May 2024, the Ukrainian government allowed the Ministry of Defence procurement agencies to transfer funds from a special account to support the Armed Forces opened to attract voluntary contributions through UNITED24.
- Upon coordination with Ukraine’s Defence Ministry, the funds can be transferred to agencies for conducting defence procurements.
- The UNITED24 fundraising platform is the main platform for collecting donations in support of Ukraine. In 28 months of operation of the platform, over US$678 million have been raised thanks to donations from over 110 countries.
