Ukrainian Parliament appoints former Ukrainian Defence Industry head as Minister of Strategic Industry

Quote: “The Verkhovna Rada has appointed Herman Smetanin to the post of minister for strategic industries of Ukraine,” he said.
The appointment was supported by 247 MPs.
Prior to this appointment, Smetanin headed Ukroboronprom. On 4 September, the Supervisory Board decided to terminate his powers.
Background: The Verkhovna Rada voted to dismiss Oleksandr Kamyshin from the post of minister for strategic industries.
