Ukrainian air defence forces shoot down 66 Shahed UAVs over Ukraine at night

Russian troops attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile, two Kh-59/69 air-to-surface missiles and another missile of an unspecified type on the night of 23-24 September. Russia also launched 81 Shahed attack UAVs, 66 of which were shot down.

Quote: “As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 66 enemy attack UAVs were shot down in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Sumy and Mykolaiv oblasts.”
Details: The Air Force reported that another 13 Russian drones had disappeared from radar in several oblasts of Ukraine as a result of active counteraction by the defence forces.
The Air Force reported that the missiles were launched from Russia’s Rostov, Bryansk, and Kursk oblasts, and the Shaheds were launched from Russia’s Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk oblasts.
The main focus of the air attack was on the north and centre of Ukraine.
