Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office and Security Service determine Russian soldiers who abused Ukrainian POWs – photos

The Prosecutor’s Office and the Security Service of Ukraine have identified two Russian soldiers who abused Ukrainian prisoners of war during the Russian offensive in Kharkiv Oblast.

Details: In early June 2024, while monitoring social media, law enforcement agents discovered a video in which the Russian military abused Ukrainian prisoners.
The prosecutors, working with investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine, spent three months conducting a series of necessary investigation measures, determining the location and time of the crime, and identifying two Russian soldiers who mocked Ukrainian defenders.
Amongst them are:
Alexei Kripin (call sign “Bars”) is the commander of the 3rd Rifle Company of the 153rd Tank Regiment of the 47th Tank Division of the 1st Tank Army of the Russian Federation’s Armed Forces.
Alexei Kuchmanov (callsign “Knavon”) is the senior shooter for the 2nd Platoon of the 3rd Rifle Company of the same Russian military unit.
According to the investigation, the Russians apprehended four Ukrainian military personnel near the town of Starytsia in the Chuhuiv district in late May. They covered their eyes and tied their hands while escorting them. The suspects hit the Ukrainian defenders with their feet all over their bodies, simulated executions with automatic rifles, and used psychological pressure.
The commander filmed the entire process of committing the crime on the phone, and then posted it on social media.
In addition, law enforcement authorities discovered that Kirpin routinely posted images of himself in military uniform from various years on social media with the signature “protecting Russia since 2014”. There is additional information concerning his extensive service in the “militia” of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic [“LPR” is a self-proclaimed and unrecognised quasi-state formation in Luhansk Oblast – ed.].
Two Russian military personnel were informed in absentia of suspicion of premeditated ill-treatment of prisoners of war committed by a group of people.
At the moment, the issue of declaring the suspects wanted is being decided.
