Russia plans to start exporting coal from occupied Donbas in October – Russian media

The Russian company named Torgoviy Dom “Donskoy Ugol” (Trade House “Don Coal”) is going to start exporting coal from occupied Donbas in October, using the port of Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast.

The negotiations about coal supply from Donbas are ongoing with potential buyers from China, India, Iran, Uzbekistan and Malaysia, as confirmed by Oleg Knyazev, CEO of the company.
A source of RBK, familiar with the plans of Donskoy Ugol, says export may be conducted through the ports of the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol and Russian cities of Taganrog and Rostov-on-Don, as well as by railway through Azerbaijan and Iran.
Background:
- The Stiron B.V. company, which bought coal from the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, invested €10 million into Telegram Open Network (TON), the block chain-platform owned by Russian Pavel Durov.
- The Taiwan Cement Corporation (TCC) company refused to buy coal in Russia.
