Pravda Ukraine

Serhii Dobriak, Head of Pokrovsk City Military Administration, has said that the Russian army is seven kilometres from the outskirts of the city on one side, and 80% of the city’s critical infrastructure has been damaged. Despite this, 13,000 people remain in Pokrovsk, including 94 children.

Quote from Serhii Dobriak: “There were two attacks yesterday alone. That’s six guided aerial bombs. At 10:30, they attacked the city centre, and, unfortunately, we have four people who were injured – two of them from the first attack. At 23:00, there were also [attack with] three guided aerial bombs, and there were also people who were wounded. This is civilian infrastructure, as always, critical infrastructure; it’s almost destroyed. It is almost 80% damaged or destroyed. The enemy is leaving us without electricity, water and gas. They are ‘preparing’ us for winter.”

Details: Dobriak said that the Russian troops left more than ten settlements of the hromada without electricity. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

Despite this, Dobriak said, 13,050 people remain in Pokrovsk, including 94 children.

Quote from Serhii Dobriak: “I am grateful to all our citizens who listened to me and evacuated. A month and a half ago, there were 48,000 people and almost 5,900 children in the city. So we see the dynamics, but the evacuation continues.”

Background:

  • The Pokrovsk front is currently one of the hottest on the entire frontline. Dozens of combat clashes take place there every day.
  • About 26,000 people, including 1,076 children, remained in the frontline town of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast as of 4 September, which is being attacked by Russian forces.
