Details: Hvozdii said Russian missile strikes have caused more than several billion US dollars’ worth of damage.

The destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, in particular, resulted in the loss of 335 MW of renewable energy capacity and worsened water supply in the region.

Moreover, 94% of irrigation systems in Kherson Oblast have been lost, along with 74% in Zaporizhzhia and 30% in Dnipropetrovsk oblasts. Overall, 18 billion cubic metres of water have been lost, equivalent to two years of Ukraine’s water supply.

The company is now being forced to adjust its development plans and focus on strengthening infrastructure security, drawing on the experience of South Korea and Japan, which have also faced aggression from neighbouring countries, Ukrhydroenergo said.
