Details: The newspaper reports that Zelenskyy is scheduled to arrive on Friday, 11 October and will present details of his Victory Plan – which he previously shared with US President Joe Biden – to Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Zelenskyy is also due to hold confidential talks with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Background:
- Zelenskyy’s visit to Berlin was likely scheduled in connection with the Ramstein leader-level meeting that had been due to take place on 12 October at the US airbase of the same name.
- However, it has been confirmed that the meeting will not take place on 12 October, primarily due to a change in US President Joe Biden’s schedule.
- Despite announcements that the meeting has been “postponed” to an as yet unspecified date, it remains unclear whether it will take place at leader level, as originally planned for this week.
