Oil depot in Crimea on fire for fourth day: another tank explodes – videos

An oil depot in temporarily occupied Feodosiia, Crimea, has been on fire since 6 October following a strike by the Ukrainian defence forces, and on Thursday, 10 October, another tank exploded.

Details: This is the largest terminal in temporarily occupied Crimea in terms of oil product transshipment and had been used to supply Russia’s occupying army.

Background:

  • It was reported on the morning of 7 October that an oil depot was on fire in temporarily occupied Feodosiia following a drone attack, and a state of emergency at municipal level had been declared in the city.
  • The Russian Ministry of Defence later claimed that 21 Ukrainian drones had been shot down over Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea overnight. Twelve UAVs were allegedly downed over Crimea, six over Russia’s Kursk Oblast, and one each over Russia’s Belgorod, Bryansk and Voronezh oblasts.
  • The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine later confirmed that the Russian oil terminal in Feodosiia had been struck.
  • It was also reported that the oil depot in the port of occupied Feodosiia that was successfully attacked by Ukrainian defence forces had been equipped with a Pantsir-S1 air defence system since autumn 2022.
