Ukraine Defence Contact Group meeting at level of leaders will not take place anytime soon

In the near future, there will be no meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (Ramstein format) at the level of the countries’ leaders.

Details: According to official information, US President Joe Biden is scheduled to come to Germany on Thursday, 17 October for a visit that was previously postponed due to Hurricane Milton.
At the same time, the visit of the American president will be drastically shortened to a single day, Friday, 18 October.
ZDF reports that there will be no meeting in the Ramstein format in the near future.
However, no other sources have confirmed this information.
The TV channel also reported that Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced the package of help from Germany, which was scheduled to be announced at a Ramstein format on 12 October, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday.
According to ZDF journalist Elmar Theveßen, additional decisions in the Ramstein format would most likely be taken after the results of the US presidential election.
Background:
- On 12 October, Joe Biden was also supposed to chair a meeting at the level of leaders of countries and governments of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (Ramstein format). However, due to the approach of Hurricane Milton to the Florida coast, he called off his trip to Europe.
- Later, it became known that the Ramstein meeting was postponed to a date yet to be determined.
