Zelenskyy to attend EU summit and present Ukraine’s Victory Plan

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will deliver a speech at a meeting of the European Council on 17-18 October, which will focus on further support for Ukraine. He will likely present Ukraine’s Victory Plan to EU leaders.

Details: Although Nikiforov did not disclose the specific topic of Zelenskyy’s speech, the president mentioned in his evening address on Monday, 14 October, that this week, “we will present to all our partners in Europe our strategy for compelling Russia to bring this war to a just end”.
“Of course, the Victory Plan will be made public. Moreover, along with the initial response we have received from our partners. And all of us in Ukraine really need maximum support,” he added.
Background:
- It was previously announced that during the meeting on 17-18 October, EU leaders would discuss Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine “in all its dimensions”, in particular the frontline situation and the continued comprehensive support for Ukraine and its people.
- Earlier, Zelenskyy presented Ukraine’s Victory Plan to US President Joe Biden and presidential candidates, before travelling to Europe, where he shared the plan with the leaders of France, Italy, and the UK.
- The first point of the plan is known to be an invitation for Ukraine to join NATO.
