Ukraine uses Storm Shadow missiles against Russia for first time – Bloomberg
Pravda Ukraine
Ukraine’s defence forces have used British Storm Shadow cruise missiles for the first time against military targets on the territory of Russia.
Source: Bloomberg, citing an unnamed Western official, as reported by European Pravda
Details: Bloomberg did not specify when or where Ukraine struck targets using Storm Shadow missiles, but earlier on Wednesday, 20 November, Russian sources reported the use of these missiles in Kursk Oblast.
The Guardian also reported on the strike, referencing an analysis of images of missile wreckage in Kursk Oblast.
The UK Prime Minister’s Office stated that it would not be commenting on reports about the possible use of Storm Shadow missiles against targets on Russian territory.
Background:
- The media have previously reported that the UK had privately approved Ukraine’s use of UK-provided cruise missiles against Russian targets in response to Russia’s deployment of North Korean troops.
- The US has also reportedly authorised Ukraine to strike Russia with long-range ATACMS missiles, although it has not publicly announced this decision.
