On January 26, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that active offensive actions by units of the 5th Guards Separate Tank Brigade of the 36th Army and the 40th Naval Infantry Brigade of the Battlegroup East resulted in the liberation of Velikaya Novoselka in the DPR
