Russia’s strike on Chornobyl: rescue workers localise fire in shelter cladding

Rescue workers have managed to localise the fire in the outer cladding of the arch of the protective structure over the destroyed Unit 4 of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

Quote from Hrynchuk: “The radiation background in the Exclusion Zone is normal and is controlled by an automated monitoring system in a continuous mode at 39 points. The data is sent to the control centre once an hour around the clock and in an emergency – every minute.
Control levels of ambient dose equivalent power have not been exceeded.’
Details: Meanwhile, Kyiv City State Administration also reported that the radiation background in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast remains normal. No excesses are observed
Experts constantly monitor the situation, and measurements are taken every 3 hours.
