Organisers have not provided a reason for the cancellation. HKFP has contacted organisers Live Nation for comment.

“It is with regret that Creamfields Hong Kong 2025… has been cancelled. All customers will be issued with a full refunds on tickets purchased. You don’t need to do anything,” the announcement on Instagram said, with an apology.

Some of the event’s early bird tickets had sold out, according to Creamfields Hong Kong’s Instagram page.

Among those set to perform were AC Slater, Carta, Claptone, Maddix, Niffra, Timmy, Zedd, Alex Farell, Jazzy, Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz. Standard ticket prices for the full weekend cost HK$1,788.

Shi Fu Miz crowdfunding

Meanwhile, homegrown boutique festival Shi Fu Miz launched a crowdfunding campaign last month, citing financial struggles.

Organisers said a lack of public funding, competition, decreasing sponsorship opportunities and production costs. The festival also faced debts following the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Despite budget cuts and strategic planning, the 2024 edition still resulted in an estimated HK$300,000 loss. Yet, we remain resilient, focused on delivering the experience that makes Shi Fu Miz extraordinary,” organiser Florian Mélinette told HKFP by email on Monday.

“If the crowdfunding works out, the festival will come back with [a] new format more adapted to the Hong Kong market without forgetting the principle values of its identity: nature/outdoor environment, quality music line up, wellness/activities/workshops, scenography,” he added.

As of Tuesday lunchtime, the funding campaign had raised HK$56,605 of its HK$150,000 goal, with donors receiving merch and tickets to future events.
