Ammunition storage point on fire after drone attack in Russia’s Tver Oblast: evacuations ongoing – videos

A fire and detonation have occurred in the town of Toropets in Russia’s Tver Oblast, following a drone attack on the night of 17-18 September.

Details: Local authorities reported that air defence systems are continuing to respond to the large-scale drone attack over the city.
Tver Oblast Governor Igor Rudenya ordered a partial evacuation of the population from the area where air defence is working and fire containment efforts are ongoing. Toropets residents are being evacuated to the nearby town of Zapadnaya Dvina in Tver Oblast.
Local residents reported that an ammunition storage point was attacked. Videos show a fire and sounds of detonations.

Earlier, authorities stated that a fire had broken out in the city “as a result of falling UAV wreckage”.

Explosions were also reported in Russia’s Bryansk, Smolensk, Tula and Oryol oblasts during the night.

Authorities announced that the operation of kindergartens and schools in the Zapadnaya Dvina district will be suspended on 18 September.
