Quote: “A week ago, a mandatory evacuation started in Toretsk, Marinka and Ocheretyne hromadas, which are under round-the-clock Russian attacks. The measures aim to motivate the parents to fulfil their legal duty to save children’s lives.”

Reportedly, 252 children in total are to be evacuated from eight settlements near the contact line.

Armoured transport is used to pick up civilians and transport them along coordinated routes.

Law enforcement officers provide children with special helmets and armoured vests. There are additional protective sets for adults.

The National Police specify that the evacuation of children is being conducted with the approval of parents, guardians, or other legal representatives.

At least one parent must accompany the child to the evacuation, or this right can be transferred to another relative or child protection services.

The evacuation is being conducted by the Bilyi Yanhol (White Angel) group jointly with the rescue workers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, patrol police, guard police and local authorities.
