Attack on Zaporizhzhia: four people hospitalised, over 450 houses damaged

The latest reports say three people have been killed and many others injured in a Russian missile attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia on 21-22 March. Four people were hospitalised. More than 450 houses were damaged and 7 of them were completely destroyed.

Quote: “Sadly, 3 people have died, 25 more were injured, and most of them sought medical attention. As of this evening four people remain in hospital. All the others were treated at the scene.”
Details: Fedorov added that 7 houses were completely destroyed in the attack and more than 450 houses were damaged.
Fedorov noted that this damage was not caused by debris from missiles downed by Ukraine’s air defence, but by direct strikes.
Update: The State Emergency Service of Ukraine later reported that as of 21:50, the number of people injured in the attack had risen to 29 (including two children).
Background:
- On the night of 21-22 March 2024, Russian troops launched a combined missile and drone strike against Ukraine’s critical infrastructure using a total of 151 aerial weapons. Ukrainian air defence units managed to destroy 92 Russian aerial targets.
- A Russian missile strike on the city of Zaporizhzhia on 22 March claimed the lives of three people: a father and daughter aged 35 and 8, and a 62-year-old trolleybus driver who was driving along the dam of the Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant. There were no passengers on the trolleybus.
- The Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant in the city of Zaporizhzhia was hit by missiles eight times.
